Lisa George and Lori Pretty are experienced teachers. They have been working collaboratively for the past eight years. Lisa is currently teaching grade one with 24 students in her class and Lori is teaching grade two with 22 students in her class. Lisa and Lori first started working together when they taught multiage 1-2 for 5 years and enjoyed the benefits of this approach and the impact it had on students.
Over the past five years they have grown professionally through Teachers in Action. This has enhanced their STEM instruction and given them confidence in being more effective in this area. A highlight of the Teachers in Action experience was when they attended an ARNA Conference (Action Research Network of the Americas) in Toronto in May 2015. It was exciting and enlightening to see the similarities and differences in how action research is being done globally.
